Why the full model name matters
Phone-case openings, button positions, and dimensions are tied to a specific device design. A shared generation number or a similar-looking camera does not prove that two phones use the same case. Words such as Plus, Pro, Ultra, and Fold are part of the model name, not optional details.
Do not select a case from a product photo alone. The model named in the store's variant selector must match the phone you actually have. If a listing combines several devices, choose the specific option before checking its preview and price.
Find the name on your device
iPhone
Open Settings → General → About and read Model Name. Apple also shows a separate Model Number; it is useful if you need to distinguish a device further, but start with the complete Model Name when choosing a case. See Apple's device information guide.
Google Pixel
Open Settings → About phone and look for Model. Google's device identification guide also explains where to find it.
Samsung Galaxy
Open Settings → About phone to find the product or model name. Samsung notes that the exact screen can vary by carrier, software version, and model; its model identification guide covers other ways to check.
Keep private identifiers private: You do not need to send a seller your IMEI or serial number merely to pick a case. Share the phone's model name instead.
Compare the full name with the product option
Read the selected option in the storefront, not just the title or search result. Compare the brand, generation, and suffix word for word. If the option only says a family name, or your exact device is absent, ask the storefront before ordering rather than assuming another variant will fit.

A thirty-second checkout check
- Confirm the model name on the phone and the selected store option match exactly.
- Confirm the case type or material you chose on the live product page.
- Check the final design preview for that model, especially the camera area.
- Read the current processing, shipping, cancellation, and return terms on the store where you will buy.
